| Level I Street Cylinder
Heads
Cobras & all 32 Valve Engines
The 32 valve cylinder heads that Ford equipped the 4.6 & 5.4
liter engines with are the highest flowing heads that Ford has ever
produced on a mass production vehicle, surpassed only by the limited
heads on the Boss 429 and that not by much. Properly modified, these
heads flow as much as the Yates Winston Cup heads.
TMS Level I and Level II heads use the stock valves and are designed
for customers on a budget, but are still capable of producing in
excess of 700 horsepower. TMS head assemblies come completely assembled
and you receive the full benefit of our accumulated knowledge in
all aspects of head preparation. There is a tremendous amount of
development in these heads, and nothing short of that will deliver
the level of power and reliability that these heads will give you.
Level III to Level V heads use our stainless steel oversize valves
and offer higher flows.
TMS cylinder head flow development focuses on overall port development,
not just peak flow numbers. We will match our heads against all
comers for their performance throughout the lift of the valve. Our
heads flow more at lower lifts than what others claim at high lift.
That translates to more air in the cylinder with less valve opening,
and for street engines that equates to more power with less emissions
Please refer to the camshaft section for the many different selections
that are available.
TMS camshafts choices allow you many levels of tune and power.
We will help you choose the best set for your power goals.

Level II Street/ Racing Cylinder Heads
Cobras & All 32 Valve Engines
TMS Level II cylinder head assemblies are the beginning of serious
power output for your 4.6 or 5.4 based 32 valve Ford engine. These
heads will deliver strong street up to race level performance. Our
advanced porting programs combined with state of the art camshaft
profiles deliver. This is a true cylinder head package, TMS heads
come complete with camshafts and all valvetrain components, ready
to bolt on to your shortblock. Indexed cam gears allow the choice
of many timing settings that substantially change the power delivery
of the engine.
When comparing cylinder heads and porting, airflow numbers are king.
In order to make a fair comparison to the popular Extrude Hone heads,
we tested a pair that came from a customer to compare to our stock
valve Level II heads. The E.H. heads were given our specially developed
radius seat valve job, exactly the same as the TMS heads tested.
The TMS heads were the winners, and flowed more on average than
the E.H. heads throughout the lift range. Here are the results:
Exhaust Flow Intake Flow
TMS Heads
Exhaust flow 202 cfm
Intake flow 306 cfm
E.H. Heads
Exhaust flow 190 cfm
Intake flow 296 cfm
All flows @ .525" lift
Those are the real numbers and again, our cylinder heads
outflow our competitors.

Level IV
Cylinder Head Assemblies
Level IV heads are fully ported stainless valve cylinder head
assemblies that provide full competition or max Pro Street type
performance. We used Level IV heads on our 838 hp engine and are
very confident of their ability to make over 1000 hp super/turbocharged
and 500+hp naturally aspirated. We have achieved a favorable intake
to exhaust port flow ratio of 78 %, considered to be optimal for
maximum power production. The exhaust ports on the Level IV heads
require a header primary pipe size of at least 1 7/8" for
proper flow.
- Stainless steel oversized racing valves installed and valve
guides honed to fit
- Oversize valve seats installed with our special radius seat
valve job, blended to port
- Intake port fully contoured to yield flows of 335+ cfm

| LEVEL III & IV
Stainless Steel Big Valve Cylinder Heads
Street & Competition
for Cobra & All 32 Valve Engines
TMS heads are proven in dyno testing and racing to be the most
powerful cylinder heads available for your 4.6 & 5.4 modular
cammer. TMS heads are so good because of years of development and
very unique valve, valve seat and port configurations that yield
very high flow levels. Not only high flows, but outstanding low
and mid lift flows that fill the cylinders with air earlier and
better than our competitors. Please refer to the airflow tables
and compare our flow numbers. Depending upon the power level of
your engine, expect between 40 and 125 hp increases for your engine
with the proper combination.
